Criteria B: The IT Background of the Issue
Like any other computer, video consoles have a couple of components in order to make it work. The first one is the CPU. This is the main component of a video console, it has the circuitry necessary to input and output instructions. The second thing is the graphics card which basically turns the data on the game into visual images so people can see the actual game.. And the last thing are the peripheral inputs and that includes the joysticks, monitor etc.
The development of any of the above would result to a better gaming console. For example, increasing the speed of the CPU would make the game faster so switching on, loading or saving the game becomes faster so people are less frustrated waiting. An Improvement in the graphics card will make the game more realistic which therefore more entertainment in the game. And better peripheral inputs make it easier for the person to play and more relaxing, such as wireless joysticks.
Seeing where video consoles came from, I think the games would get better. CPUs are always getting faster since they have been made, that would have an impact on the games since it would make it faster to do everything. Graphics card are always becoming more realistic too. You can get more pictures per second than you did a decade ago and that trend suggests future games will be more realistic. Dr. Francisco of Chicago is always talking about that extra dimension that makes the whole thing look more realistic. The idea is a little bit out there but no one proved otherwise, so that could be true.
